Maura Tierney's next project will (hopefully) be My Dead Boyfriend, based on Arthur Nersesian's book Dogrun. It's the portrait of an aimless 29-year-old woman whose live-in boyfriend dies one day. Her husband Billy Morrissette wrote the adaptation, and ER's Anthony Edwards will direct. This project is no longer in development.

  • Maura quoted on the expectation of actresses to look good in public: "It's part of the culture, it's part of the game," says ER's Maura Tierney, who is wearing jeans, sandals and a sheer top. "Because the business is about selling, it's about perception, and if you can sell the perception, you can do well just based on how you're perceived. Talent sometimes isn't in that equation. Unfortunately, young actors learn this all too quickly."
